Meet Our Team

Pastor Tim and Debbie Childers

Pastor Tim has been in ministry for 33 years.  Don’t let those years fool you!  He is very young at heart and wants to reach the generations with the good life that comes when you have a relationship with Jesus Christ.  For years he “tried” to live the Christian life but just stayed tired from trying.  In 1999 God showed him “a new way to live!”  Since then, Tim and his college sweetheart and wife of 42 years (there’s some relationship goals right there) have been passionate about sharing that new way to live! You can expect a fun teaching style with depth and humor.    Pastor Tim says, “We are truly a team when it comes to ministry.  Debbie can finish my sentences.”

Debbie is a published author and speaks to women’s groups and corporations all over the southeast, bringing her smile, energy, LIFE and truth to anyone she encounters.

Tim is a graduate of Samford University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  Tim and Debbie have 2 married children and seven of the smartest, best looking, and fun grandkids on the planet! If there is some spare time, Tim likes to bike, hike, kayak and camp, refurbish junk furniture and work in the yard.

Randy Walterman, Worship Pastor

Randy was born into a minister’s family and brought up in an environment of music and ministry.  He received his Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from Fresno State University in California.  He has served on the staffs of five churches in California and Texas, the last church as Interim Pastor.  He is a published author and a songwriter with a number of songs recorded. Randy is a widower and currently lives in Marietta with his 22 year-old daughter.

Taylor Finley, Associate Pastor for Students

Taylor graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters in Divinity in the fall of 2017. He is enthusiastic about teaching the Bible to students of all ages. Taylor grew up at Crestview Baptist (one of the two churches that merged into GracePointe) and was a member while pursuing his masters degree. Much like the students he teaches, Taylor loves to have fun, play games (ask him about his board game collection) and not getting overly serious about small things.

Randy Lariscy, Associate Pastor for Discipleship & Outreach

Randy guides the discipleship and outreach ministry of GracePointe Marietta.  His philosophy is that discipleship and evangelism go hand-in-hand.  It is not enough to provide Bible knowledge.  To fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) we must focus on developing disciple-making disciples.  He has served as a bivocational pastor in previous churches as an Education Pastor, Interim Preacher, and Evangelism Consultant.  Randy holds a Doctorate in Theology from Andersonville Baptist Seminary and is the author of five books: Natural Evangelism, Portraits of Forgiveness, Speedy Devotions (Vol. 1), The Book of Mark (Vol. 1), and his latest on Heaven

Randy’s bride, Mary, is a cardiac nurse at WellStar Kennestone and a talented designer of floral decorations for weddings and special events.  Living in Marietta, they have been married over 30 years with a mutual love and respect nurtured by faith in the LORD Jesus.   So far, they have two adult children, both married, three grandchildren, and 5 granddogs.
